Update : Haze...It's Not Getting Any Better

Seems like I'll be doing updating of the haze situation in Miri and specifically, my place.

The situation is not any better today. I wore mask in school for about 2 and half hours before the smell of smoke is a little less.

It's horrible...I'm waiting to go back home. I guess it's less back in Penisular???

Well...have a look at the photos for today.

Taken at 0629 hours..doesn't look bad but it smells horrible.

0629 hours

0630 hours

0631 hours...pity the sun, it tried so hard to shine...but it was clouded by the haze/smoke.

0632 hours

0647 hours

0647 hours

0649 hours

1040 hours...still the same minus little bit of the smelly smoke.

1350 hours...the skies are clearer...not too much smell either.

1400 hours

1402 hours..it seems to be still quite hazy but at least you can see the sea now.

Hari Ini.....Today....Sahari Tu....Chin Thian....

....has been a very very very hazy day. For the first time in my whole life, I SLEPT WITH MASK ON!!!!

I wished I brought my camera with me. The haze is Pujut and Tudan is terribly and horribly bad.
Visibility of roughly 100m.

My clothes and car were all smell of smoke....maybe my hair too.

Imagine...wearing mask in my own privacy of my room...*sigh*

Rain rain DON'T go away....Don't come another day....COME TODAY!

You are my Sunshine...not my only sunshine....You make so sad because it's so hot....and do you know dear...how much I beg you...please bring rain upon us today.....
*(sing it the same tune as You Are My Sunshine)

ANYWAY....

THANK GOD in all circumstances...

Thank God for people who invented the mask...

Thank God the mask is available in Miri...

Thank God that I have money to buy the mask...

Thank God I have nose to smell the smoke...

Thank God that though my clothes smells, it shows that I have clothes to wear...

Thank God that though my car smells, it shows that I have a car to bring me to my destination...

Thank God that though my room smells, it shows that I have a place to stay...

Thank God above all...because I have God to thank Him for many things...

Haze Situation Updated...

This is just a few photos I've taken this morning.

Look at the sun, it's 0715hours.

The skies and the sun...and not forgetting the smell of the air.

It was really bad this morning, the worst so far. I woke up with headache, flu and cough for smelling too much of the smoke. Oh O...!! Or maybe it's H1N1??

No. It's not H1N1 because I'm fine now...haha.

For the 1st time in my whole life, this morning, I wore a mask....because....I ride my bike to school...in the hazy weather.

This is to show you both the skies and also the huge lovely HOUSE...hehe

Then, roughly about 9:40am, the weather changed. It was getting dark and soon, there were strong wind....and then....it "rained"..... a few drops withing roughly 3 minutes I guess.....and stopped. It got dried up in less than a few minutes but the weather was cool compare to what we got in the morning...hot and humid.

Compare it with previous post...it's horrible...can't see anything beyond what you can see

No more "rain"...just gloomy skies but less hazy. When I rode back to my house, the air was a little cleaner.

Taken after the strong wind and "rain" @ 1015hours
The weather suddenly became quite cooling...thank God.

Taken @ about 1200hours. Skies were quite clear.

There were sunshine a little as you can see in this picture...the shadows of the tree.

Stop the open burning, people!!!

Save water!!!

Hazy Hazy Day-Z (pronounced as Day-Zee)

On the way to town center...can hardly see the buildings.

It has been very hazy last few days. El Nino is here plus some idiots still doing open burning despite such a hot and dry season.

On the way to my school at 0625 hours.

This haze is even worse than H1N1. I would wear a mask because of this haze because I could hardly breathe.

I used to open my door to my balcony early in the morning but one fine day, as soon as I opened the door, the smell of smoke filled my lung. Immediately I closed back my door. I really do appreciate fresh air.

On the way to school at 0627hrs...I was supposed to take a picture a little down the road but could not bcos the road is kind of winding...and I am the driver cum photographer...dangerous driving...haha

You don't see blue skies anymore, you see blurry skies.

My school is still on as usual. Teachers and students are suffering the effects of the haze and smoke due to insufficient air ventilation in the classroom. What do you expect with just 2 miserable ceiling fan high up on the ceiling, with at least 30 to 45 students in a classroom.

Ok, maybe you can't see much of the haze but it is hazy plus the smell of the smoke is making me unbreathable.

My classroom is a little better off with standing fan that could be used as ventilation system. Even so, air is still so polluted and in no time, everyone will be coughing, having flu and down with headache. Oh O! Will everyone be even more fragile towards H1N1?? Or the virus even die at such a condition we are facing now?

Stay indoor guys...and drink lots of H2O. Keep yourselves fit and healthy.

You are supposed to see the sea...taken from the back room.

Oh yeah, talking about H2O. I really pity some of my friends who are facing water shortage. There ain't no water at all for them. Not even a drop. Water is so important. How could we survive without water? I really pray God would send rain despite the impossibility.

Count yourself blessed because there are many out there who are facing even worse situation than you are in now.

Learn something from every situation. God is teaching something.

Apart from the hazy situation...see the dish? Haha, it is widely used here in Sarawak. I think it should be illegal but everyone is closing an eye...maybe both eyes. You don't get to see this is Penisular Malaysia.

My 6th Year as a Cikgu.

me and my ex-students, 2008

It has been 6 years since I first reported myself at work as a person called Cikgu.

I am thankful for this 6 years of God's faithfulness towards me. Have I been faithful to Him? I am not sure. There are times I know I failed Him but no matter what, He still sustained me through.

Life in this school...I don't know about other school...is not easy. My sister's question made me think... "How did I survive all these years?" I could not think of any other answer except, it is all by the GRACE of GOD.

God taught me many things from life in this school throughout this 6 years and thinking back, what my ibu said was very very true. Until I changed myself and learned something from it, the problems will still be there because it was all meant for me, for my growth, for me to learn. I did just that and it's proven true.

I am still very happy to be able to get to this 6th year and I pray for many more years and years to come of my faithfulness towards my Father.

6th year is just the beginning of a life journey as a Cikgu. By His grace and mercy, I should be having at least 29 more years to go. I still have a long journey in this race of life as Cikgu...until I reach the finishing line.

Life is never easy on this earth but I am reminded... NOT MY WILL, BUT YOURS BE DONE!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

A Visit to the Beach

Today mark the 6th year I am living in this place called Miri.

Today mark the 6th year God send me to this place called Miri.

So, in conjunction with my 6th anniversary of life in Miri, I paid a visit to Luak Esplanade, Miri right after school.

After my Bible Knowledge class today, I made another visit to the beach since it was quite a hot day. I don't think there would be any tsunami on a day like this. Anyway, I always like the beach, the seaside, the sea, the breeze, the wind and ... most of all, the peace during a hot afternoon by the sea.

I expected no one there but, hmm...there were a few cars there and a few workers cleaning up the place. If comparing it to weekends and weekdays' evening, it's only like 0.5% of the people.

Today was a very windy day. I tried to take a few pictures but I was fighting with the wind so that my camera does not shake too much. I managed to take a few pictures. It's just my hobby and some crazy-nothing to do thing to do.

I love Fridays. I was about to drive all the way to somewhere faraway but I didn't. Hehe.
Today, I am a little crazy. As if other days I am not being "crazy". :P

Since when I started being "crazy"? I was never a crazy person. I was a total opposite person once upon a time.

Why am I so "crazy"? Haha...must be my school or am I bored being a "normal" person?

Who cares...I like the new me...

Well, not everyone get to see the "crazy" me. Only some.

To the other some, I am still a serious, quiet person.

Haha... WELCOME TO MY WORLD of GILANESS!!

That's Stitch...my cute creature.
